I am running GNOME MPlayer Version 1.0.5b1 and the error below keeps on re-appearing when working on subtitles. MKV doesn't work on internal or external ones. What should I do so I can make the subtitles work without getting such issues? And what does the error is all about?
GNOME MPlayer Error
MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: filter video

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 while working on subtitles
This problem with the subtitles when playing MKV files doesn’t always happen. Only few users experience this because there is a known bug with libass. If a user tries using subtitles on MKV files and this error appeared then maybe it is the libass bug that is causing it. To do a test or to reproduce the issue, try playing a video with the option “SSA/ASS” turned ON.
Doing this you should see Mplayer crash when the subtitle begins to appear on the screen. Next, play the video again but this time the option “SSA/ASS” should be turned OFF to see the difference in the output. When you do this, you will see Mplayer playing the video correctly without throwing the previous error.
Fixing the problem means upgrading to “libass-0.10.0”. You should upgrade libass to libass-0.10.0-1.fc16 from Download libass Version 0.10.0 Release 1.fc16.
