I have an intranet site that has some files on it. I'm using Internet Explorer to browse the site. When I open a file, it shows an error message, displayed below:
“Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close…."
What can I do in this regard? Thanks ahead.
[MS-IE] Cannot open file from intranet site
Hi Carlesy,
When you get the error message, can you try to click on the link that says “Click here”. It should display additional information for the error. If you are getting pdm.dll error message, you may need to disable script debugging. You can manually disable it or you can download the detailed help guide from Microsoft. Additional details can be found here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/293623/you-receive-a-microsoft-internet-explorer-has-encountered-a-problem-an.
If the error is referring to mshtml.dll when you click on click here link, this means that either you are using a Microsoft Windows XP or Internet Explorer which is on the Beta version only. You can then go here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/810887/ to see on how to remove the smart tags support for internet explorer.
