Ms. Word Error Messages on various commands

Hi,

Follow the steps and check if that helps:

1. Go to the location C:Program FileMicrosoft OfficeOffice 12Winword.exe

(If you are using a 64bit machine, then you would have to go to C:Program files x86Microsoft OfficeOffice 12Winword.exe)

2. Right click on Winword.exe and click onProperties and then click on Compatibility tab. Check if you have any check mark in any of the compatibility mode options. Make sure you also click on the option"change settings for all users" tab at the bottom of the same screen and look for similar check boxes in the window.

3. Uncheck the option Run as Administrator option is you have it checked.

4. If you see any check boxes in the compatibility mode options,uncheck all the boxes and click on Apply and OK.

5. Try to open Word now and check.

Ms. Word Error Messages on various commands

I’m not sure if there is a list of error codes and or error messages that can be generated specifically from Microsoft Office Word but there are available errors codes and error messages that you can access for your own reference for Windows Installer processes in Microsoft Office 2000 products.

Here are some of the error codes and their specific descriptions from the list in this order: error code, value, and description.

• ERROR_INSTALL_SERVICE_ FAILURE [1601] – The Windows Installer service could not be accessed. Contact your support personnel to verify that the Windows Installer service is properly registered.
• ERROR_INSTALL_USEREXIT [1602] – User cancel installation.
• ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE [1603] – Fatal error during installation.
• ERROR_INSTALL_SUSPEND [1604] – Installation suspended, incomplete.
• ERROR_UNKNOWN_PRODUCT [1605] – This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.
• ERROR_UNKNOWN_FEATURE [1606] – Feature ID not registered.
• ERROR_UNKNOWN_COMPONENT [1607] – Component ID not registered.
• ERROR_UNKNOWN_PROPERTY [1608] – Unknown property.
