Dear Experts,
I am going through a problem with my AVG 2012 registered version. I am using Windows XP. When AVG starts its automatic scheduled update, avg turns off while updating which may create harm to my PC if I am downloading or exchanging data with any other PC. Please guide me how to keep it on during update.

Dear Ashley.bila,
Every anti-virus has his ability to update automatically. Check your version, is it actually registered or not. If your AVG can’t update automatically you can download update file manually and insert it in system. You can visit AVG’s websites for more details:
AVG Free Antivirus 2015
Thank You.
My Anti Virus AVG 2012 registered version, turns off while updating itself
Hello.
Since you've got avg registered version. It will take care of you pc from virus. However avg has this slow down issue. Best option that you can use is try reinstalling the anti virus and this time try manually. Another aspect is that it could be due to maintenance issue (if not happening regularly) and do check for renewal date or notification from their side. Top of all simply ensure that your ani virus is fully undated, run repair installation with 1382 installation package. There has been news that (AVG) is working hard to resolve this issue particularly for (XP) user's. So finger crossed.Â

Hi Ashley,
There seems some problem in your AVG software. We all know that AVG free does not have a rootkit protection feature. However since you are running a registered version I think there is some program collision between AVG firewall and windows firewall. I suggest you to turn off your window firewall once the update starts as only one firewall can work at the same time. Otherwise it would also update your window firewall.
You must note that AVG free does not have firewall protection though.
Hope it helps.
Thanks
