My anti virus software has detected that my browser has a large memory usage,up to 960 mb, and is always asking me to restart my browser. I only have 2-3 tabs open and none of them has any videos. What causes this memory usage and how do I fix it?

My Browser is using a lot of memory
Hello,
This thing sometimes happens on several browsers, for example, Mozilla Firefox. The whole browser is hosted on a single process so it looks large. If you’ve installed tons of junk extensions or cache files on your disk, you probably will have the issue. If you’ve opened any heavy-loading webpage that contains heavy themes or related, your browser memory will also get high.
First, upgrade your browser to the latest version. Download Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera.
If no cure, start your browser, press and hold “Ctrl + Shift + Del”. The cache clearing option will appear. Clear the cache files from your browser and restart.
If you have any extensions, disable them and restart your browser.
Also, scan your PC for any malware. It is very important because viruses use lots of RAM space and causes crash.
