My computer has a problem of hanging and crashing every 10 minutes whenever I use AOL.
This problem is never present when I use internet explorer.
I uninstalled the AOL then reinstalled it in an effort to eliminate the problem. In addition, I tried emptying my cache and also rebuilding the adaptor to correct the problem with AOL.
Even though I did the above actions over and over again, there was no positive outcome and the AOL still caused my computer to hang and crash.
The version that I have is AOL V 9.6. What is the cause and solution to my problem?
Thanks for helping.

This application doesn’t really require high hardware configuration. If you experience frequent system hanging and crashing whenever you use this, the problem maybe is not with this application. Try to check your computer first for any possible system errors that it might contain.
Use a disk utility application to check your computer. If you don’t have one installed on your computer, you can use Windows’ own disk check tool by following the steps below:
-
Right-click drive C and then select Properties.
-
Click Tools tab.
-
Click Check Now.
-
Check Automatically fix file system errors then click Start.
If the problem was not fixed after checking your hard drive, try upgrading AOL to the latest version.
