Dear friend,

Your computer is perfect for using DVD rom. You are using Windows XP SP3. By reading your problem I have understand it’s a problem of connection or in the DVD room.

  1. If your DVD ROM is not connect properly check it back
  2. If it is connect properly than I think your connecting cable have problem. Check it if your cable have problem than you need to change your DVD ROM connecting cable. You can find it any computer shop.
  3. If there is no problem in cable than it is sure that your DVD ROM has problem. Please change your DVD ROM. Contact with the people from where you bought the DVD ROM.

Thank You

Right click on my computer – select properties – device manager – double click on DVD / CD Drives – double click on the DVD ROM – select the driver tab – check whether the DVD ROM has been disabled. If its disabled enable the DVD ROM or two you can click on update the driver and this is going to reinstall the drivers again.
