My external hard drive isn’t showing up!

 Run a check disk on it and let it repair any problems it finds.

• Open the "Computer" window
• Right-click on the drive icon and select "Properties"
• Click the "Tools" tab
• In the Error-checking area, click "Check Now"
• Check "Automatically fix file system errors"
• Click "Start

My external hard drive isn’t showing up!

Hi,

The external drive might not be receiving enough power and as result not showing up. You will therefore need to ensure that it is plugged in, and in case there are 2 USB to be connected to the computer you will need to ensure that you connect them both.

Also, you will need to run a check disk on that drive and let it repair any problems it finds. The following is the procedure:

• First, you will open the "Computer" window, and then right-click on the drive icon and select "Properties".
• After that click the "Tools" tab, and then in the Error-checking area, click "Check Now".
• Check "Automatically fix file system errors", and then click "Start".
