My GOM Player is showing a message while opening a media file

Hi Experts,

My GOM Player is showing a message while opening a media file. It failed to open the file. Have a look at the message below. However, I can open the file with VLC Media Player. Have you any idea for the issue?

Please help.

 

Cannot play the media file

You don’t have necessary codec to play.

Please, click “Find Codec” button to the right side.

Codec Finder will help you to install Codec.

If Codec Finder cannot find the appropriate codec, check your file first. It may be damaged or fake file.

Hello Nelson,

There might be some codecs that are missing and therefore you will need to just click on find codec if the error message comes up. I am pretty sure it will need to download the codec online and then install it, and therefore you will need to ensure that you have access to the internet.

My GOM Player is showing a message while opening a media file

The file format you need to play is not supported by your media player. You can either play it by installing the plug-in or you can run it from the other media player. You can download the plug-in or codec to play the file on the same media player you are now trying to play.
