Hi there again!
My 500gb Hard Disk has become noisy and creating a buzzing sound these past few days and I’m worried that there might be something wrong with it. I tried checking it by removing it from the unit and shaking it if there is some loose components inside. I found out that it is still intact so I attach it again to the unit and there it is again. My computer still functions and still loading but I noticed that it took longer than usual to load the desktop…what’s wrong? Is it time for me to replace my hard disk? By the way my hard disk is only 6 months old

Hi Bethy!
Â
Your hard disk buzzing sound may indicate it is starting to fail or it may be suffering from a head fault. Try to run a third party software, a diagnostic software for hard drives. It will show you the areas of the hard drive that are failing as "bad" and may prevent your computer from using them in the future but it will not truly fix your problem. Chances are, your hard drive may continue to fail until it is completely damaged or unusable.Â
Â
Your driver may also have developed bad sectors and  it continually trying to read them.
Â
The permanent solution for you to do is to do back up of your system and files. You may also try to replace your hard drive.
Â
Hope this helps

That's what I'm afraid of..maybe it's time for me to replace my hard disk..but I'll try downloading a third party program to check if it can still be solved..
I'll get back to you once I got the result..thanks 🙂

Hello
You should perform third party tests on your hard disk and know what the problem is.By performing these tests it tells you everything regarding your hard disk for example is temperature, etc.Well as you mentioned that your hard disk is just six months old you need not worry because its is in the warranty period and you might get it replaced for no cost.So don't worry just perform the test on your hard disk and check out what the fault is.You will surely get it replaced or repaired free of cost as it is in the warranty period. These problems regarding noise often happen in the hard disk.this can be a bad manufacturing effect or mishandling by the user. You just need to care that you do not damage it physically.Rest everything is covered under the warranty.Just produce the bill to the vendor from where you bought it.It will be replaced.Hope this helps.
thank you
