I am running a Vista Home Premium Operating System, 32 bit. My internet explorer is giving me trouble. It redirects me to other site pages i haven’t commanded it to. I can’t defragment my drive C, it blocks any attempts I can’t update my anti-virus, it blocks the updates I also block me from turning the firewall on Recently it has been freezing, not opening other search pages and it restarts frequently I tried to update it and this was the error message i got “To install updates from this website, you must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group on your computer. If you use Windows XP, you can see if you are an administrator by going to User Accounts in Control Panel. Note: If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might also prevent you using this website. Contact your system administrator for help with updates.” I really don’t understand this because i am logged in as an administrator. The network settings are not the problem, i have checked them and did some troubleshooting, and confirmed they are ok. I am afraid something bad has happened and can’t figure out exactly what it may be. Please help me fix this. Martin
My internet explorer is having problems
Hello there, I am Mark
It seems to me that you have been hit by a virus, first thing you need to do is scan your computer for viruses and make sure to clean it properly. After making sure that your computer is clean, do this fix to your Internet Explorer:
-
Go to Start then All Programs then go to System Tools.
-
Choose and run Disk Cleanup and delete all items that are automatically ticked, possibly created by the virus that infected your computer
-
This will delete all unneeded files created by the virus and possible other viruses that may be lurking in your system.
-
Restart your computer to make sure.
Hope this helps solve your problem.
My internet explorer is having problems
It is looking like some VIRUS problem in your computer how ever if you don’t want to install a fresh copy of window then you can see the following:
First see that you are logged in as a administrator or as your user name by just pressing the ALT+CTRL+Del key and now choose the user tab here you will see who is the user on the PC.
Now what you can do is just see in the PROCESS tab and look for program that is taking most of the CPU speed as it is taking above 50% speed of your computer now GET this program and see is it a virus or spam then you can delete it from your list and your programs will work fine.
Disk checker is not happening because your system have a less memory on hard disk as it requires about 25% of the hard disk memory to be effective, check it also.
Although if you want to configure some thing manually, then go to START and click on RUN and then type “services.msc” here you will see a lot of options related to your problem solution.
Hope this will work fine.
My internet explorer is having problems
Hello my dear,
It seems that you are using a guest account or a user account, and now the cache memory on your Internet Explorer has reached its limit and there is no more space. On the other hand, your system could also be filled with temporary files, and you can clear these with an administrator account. With a guest account, you cannot delete of these, so please log on as an administrator. When the system shows a password screen or logon screen, press and hold the CTRL + ALT keys and then press the DEL key twice. It will open a user name and password dialog box. Just write “Administrator” in the user name field and press enter. It will log you on as an administrator. Now, you can clear all your temporary files and cache memory. I hope this will be helpful for you. Thanks.
