My keyboard is not working properly
By checking the wires from Central Processing Unit (CPU) to your keyboard does help fixing the problem.
Most problem with keyboard is the wire connects at the back. When connector is plugged in, it looks like that it's connected properly but it's not being recognized by the computer.
There are few ports at the back to use, try the other slots for keyboard connections. Hold it tight and wiggle a bit, observe if the light on the keyboard will lit up.
Consider adding up USB connector instead of using the standard keyboard's rounded or square holes. Re-start the computer and check the keyboard if it's working.

Hi,
One method to confirm if the keyboard is defective is to try using it with a different computer. However, the information provided seemingly indicates to a faulty keyboard controller. If the keyboard works on another computer, I would recommend purchasing keyboard with a USB keyboard devise. If the keyboard works well on the other computer it could be that PS/2 keyboard may be defected.Â

Part of the motherboard is the keyboard controller. You will need a new motherboard if the keyboard controller goes dead. The best way to fix this is to buy a new motherboard. If you are going to replace the keyboard, I would recommend you buying the same type as before. The computer may also need a compatible keyboard.Â

My keyboard is not working properly
Hello Ronald,
The problem may be occurring because the USB ports on your computer are faulty are failing to work properly. From the image that you have pasted above, the drivers are alright, and the keyboard itself being brand new we cannot say that its cable is faulty assuming that you tasted it and ensured that it was working before you purchased it.
I will suggest that you try connecting the keyboard using alternative USB ports that you are sure that are working, for instance the one you are using for the mouse. Connect the keyboard to it and restart the computer, try using the keyboard, it should work. In that case you will have to replace the faulty USB ports on your computer.
