My Outlook Express is giving me problems. Initially, I began having problems deleting emails from my Sent box. It continued to spread to all emails. Now I cannot delete any email. I tried “file” then “delete” with the same result of the email not being deleted. I can empty the deleted items folder which now does not have anything in it.
I can’t send emails I want to delete to the deleted items folder though. If I try to drag the emails to the deleted items folder, it doesn’t move and a message comes up with “error has occurred.” How can I resolve this problem?

Hi K.Ganesh,
I think there are some issues with your installed Outlook Express. I will suggest you to uninstall and install Outlook express again. This 100% resolve this kind of problem. You can follow these instructions to install and configure Outlook Express:
For installation you have to insert the operating system CD/DVD in the drive and then from Accessories you need to install Outlook express.
You can setup the email account by following these instructions:
1. Click “Start”
2. Click “All Programs”
3. Click “Outlook Express”
4. From Outlook Express click Tools
5. Client Accounts
6. Click Add
7. Click Mail
8. Now type your name for the email address
9. Type email address
10. Type email server name
11. Select the way you want to sync your email from server. HTTP, POP3 etc
12. Click Next and Client Finish
I believe you will able to do the desired operation.

One possible cause for this error is when the “Deleted Items” database is corrupt. In case you are storing messages in the “Deleted Items” folder, move them to a local folder you created or create a new folder and move the messages to that folder. After this, in Microsoft Outlook Express, go to “Tools” then select “Options”.
In “Options” window, go to “Maintenance” tab then click “Store Folder” to find out the location of your Outlook Express files. The path looks like this:
- C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{F21C3331-F923-4089-BE05-B8F5DB7C8D1A}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
You may need to view hidden files and folders to access this location. To do this, start Windows Explorer then go to “Tools” then “Folder Options”. In “Folder Options” window, go to “View” tab then scroll down and select “Show hidden files and folders” and then click “OK”. Next, look for the file called “Deleted Items.dbx” and delete it.
Make sure Microsoft Outlook Express is not running before deleting the file. After this, start Microsoft Outlook Express. The “Deleted Items.dbx” file will be re-created. See if this works.
