Just installed Samsung Kies on my pc.  I'm trying to transfer files using Ubuntu 10.10 to and from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with MTP Protocol.  It says "Error creating directory: -1: Unspecified error".  There used to be UMS option in older versions. Why is my pc not accessing Samsung phone linux explore?

Hello

MTP, (media transfer tool) is designed by Microsoft, It works fine and compatible with Ubuntu OS. Since you are transferring the file from android tablet, I would recommend you to download the Samsung galaxy tab USB Driver. After installing drivers, Your problem will be resolve, However since your using Ubuntu OS.

You might have to check for some updation for drivers.
