Hi guys,
My Ubuntu server has encountered a problem.
While logging on it using my username and password I received an error message.
The screenshot of the error message is as below.
Have you any idea for the message?
Please help.
Thanks in advance.
Message from server “mserv1”
Something wrong with the volume’s CNID DB, using
temporary CNID DB instead. Check server messages
for details!

Hallo Adams,
Did you make any changes to the Ubuntu server lately? Because if you did, then you might have made changes that are causing the issue that you are getting right now. In that case, you will need to restore the changes and see if that will help the issue.
Regards,
Nicke

Hi Adams,
This is could be the cause of missing some rights permissions over the network program. This program creates a hidden directory at the base (root) of each share (a .AppleDB) so please do the following:
* First check the permission with “chmod –R /your_share/. AppleDB”(without quotes).
* Please check that in /etc/rc.conf you have the cnid_metad daemon started (i.e. cnid_metad_enable=”YES”).
* Restart Netatalk.
I hope this will help you,
Best Regards,
Aabel
