Is my virus scanner really working?.

Well, this procedure is one of the most common way to check if your antivirus is working. Whether you are using avast, avg, norton etc (btw I'm using AVG and this really works)
Open your notepad, and then name the file as X5O!P%@AP[4PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*, after naming try to save this anywhere in your PC.
In a split of seconds, your antivirus should detect this one as a virus
Dude, that's cool. It worked on my avast. At least I know that my anti virus is working. Is this really a virus?
LOL Don't worry, this is not a virus, it's just a standard file used to check if your antivirus is working.
I was a bit surprise that it was detected by my antivirus (for i thought it's not functioning), now I know that it really does its job 🙂
I think this one is just a dummy file that acts like a virus but it's not really a virus, did this trick also with my pc and it worked with my avast.
Ok, that's really cool, it works like a magic lol.
Thanks a lot!
