Hello everyone, my webcam stopped working today on my Windows XP, I installed a scanner today and I'm not sure if this caused the problem. My webcam driver shows a yellow exclamation point and it says Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)?
Please help. Thanks.
My Webcam stopped working and its Drivers are not Recognized
Try to go to device manager by right clicking my computer>properties>device manager
Click imaging device and if you see exclamation point then click it then press delete and click scan for hardware changes.
If it still persist, delete it again and download this software I recommend for driver problems, (Driver Genius Professional) and install it then scan for drivers and let it download the drivers then install drivers one by one.
Or check your power supply maybe it lacks power to continuously power up the USB drives because I had same problem with you when I had poor power supply though it is dealing with my broadband.
I hope I had helped you a little bit.

If you indeed see a yellow exclamation point on your device’s driver in the Device Manager then you really need to reinstall the driver because it’s already not functioning.
Disconnect your webcam first from your computer then uninstall its driver from the Device Manager or you can also do it by uninstalling your webcam’s software from your machine.
This, too, will remove all the associated drivers of the webcam. After successfully removing the driver, check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system. Restart your computer after this.
After booting, connect your webcam again to the CPU then let Windows detect the device. Proceed on installing its computer application afterwards to install its driver as well. After doing this test your webcam if it’s already working.
