Hello,

There are some restrictions that you need to know when you want to develop your own VSS application. For example, SDK can be used to develop VSS applications only for Windows Vista and for all versions of Windows operating system that came up lately.  

 

You will not be able to use SDK to develop VSS apps for Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003, or Windows XP.
