Hi dear,

Please follow this procedure First Go to Start Button after it go to all Programs and now go to accessories, and then click Run Or you can simply press Win +R for opening Run Window. Now you Type regedit, and then Press enter OK. Now If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
In the right pane, click UpperFilters. Note You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 8. Now On the Edit menu, click Delete. and When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes. then In the right pane, click LowerFilters.

Note: If you do not see the LowerFilters registry entry, unfortunately this content cannot help you any further. Go to the "Next Steps" section for information about how you can find more solutions or more help on the Microsoft Website.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.

When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes. Exit Registry Editor. Restart the computer.

What causes this error is because some registry entries are corrupted. To solve this problem you will have to delete the corrupt registry entries. The procedure for this is start – click on run – type regedit – on the left side of the registry window, click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE – system – currentcontrolset –control- class – {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} – On the right side of the registry window, right click on both the upper filters and the lower filter and click on delete. Exit the registry and restart the computer. This is going to solve your problem.

If DVD is a plug and play device then it does not require any software but if it require some software to operate then you can get through these steps to install a new DVD drive. First check that there is no already installed DVD drive on your computer then go to Device manager and to DVD drives, I am sure you know where the device manager is located. Once you go to device manage then select the DVD and right click on it will show some options select the uninstall option and your previous drivers for DVD will be uninstalled. Once you have uninstalled the previous drivers unplug your DVD drive and then plug it again it will find for drivers automatically and then install it on your PC. If it does not install any software it self then you need to install it manually to install drivers manually go through these steps:

  • Go to Control panel and switch to classic view.
  • Select add hardware.
  • Go through the wizard which will help you to install the drivers.
  • Once you found your DVD in the list on installing drivers list then you need to install the drivers for it.
  • Install  the drivers and your problem will be solved.

If the problem is not solved then go to device manager and then to DVD disk then right click on it and select disable after a while enable it again and see it is working or not to check the status of your device you can also see the Device status window.
