Hello Christina,

Try the following workarounds and see if they will help resolve the issue you are getting when using nLite.

  • That error could happen in the event that the setup cannot be able to load the driver from your CD ROM drive after the first reboot of the setup. If you are sure that nothing is wrong with the CD ROM drive as well as the Windows CD, you will need to check to try the next workaround.
  • In case you have got 2 CD ROM drives on your computer, you will need to try using another drive. If that does not work just yet, you might try getting online from another computer.
  • Otherwise you will need to contact the store from where you purchased your copy, and demand for a free replacement. If you have a warranty it will help in this case.

Regards,

Carl

Hello Christina,

To resolve that issue, you will first of all need to make sure that your temp. internet file cache has been cleared and there is enough free space on your Hard Disk  for the image. I will recommend that you use Autostreamer together with Nero or any other burning software. These two are very easy to use.

The other possible cause of the problem might be a CD that has been damaged. In most instances, checking and then cleaning the disc is the easiest way you can use to step over that problem you are getting, and therefore you will need to do that and see if it will help.

Carl

That is a CRC error which means the file you are extracting or unpacking is corrupt or damaged. If you are referring “Windows XP MC 2005” to Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, I don’t think you will get passed that part of the installation if the file is corrupt.

If the file you are extracting is a download, you should download it again or download it from a different website. Try downloading this one from GetIntoPC.com: Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 ISO. It requires 1 GHz Intel Pentium or faster processor, 1 GB RAM, and 1 GB free space.

The 1 GB RAM requirement is probably the recommended requirement because there are others who were able to install it on 512 MB RAM. The download is a ZIP file so just unpack it with WinZip or 7-Zip and burn it on a blank CD. You can then install Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 on your computer using the CD you burned.
