Nokia Lumia 1320- Magnetic compass issue

I have a Nokia Lumia 1320 mobile. Every time use the navigation app , it says that there is something interfering with the compass in Here Maps navigation app. What i feel is compass magnet is either stuck or there is some software issue. The location is almost accurate to the expected level. But this is awful experience to read my mobile saying that there is a problem every time i open the navigation app. Has anybody faced the same problem. Please let me know how to pin point this problem and if possible resolve it by myself. My Nokia Lumia 1320 has windows 8.1 OS with Cortana.

Hi Nick, Windows phone 8 is amazing piece of software, The windows 8 UI is beautiful, simplistic, and sleek, I love the flawless of windows phone, The issue you are getting is a little bit odd, If you are using magnetic case, Remove the case, And try the compass again, If this doesn't work, Disable Cortana, Try out the compass in maps, If the problem isn't solved by now, Try the maps application in landscape mode
