Norton antivirus unavailable to open emails

I usually encounter errors while using Norton Internet Security as well as Norton AntiVirus but since I’m not using an email client before, I haven’t encountered this error yet. Just like what it does with your computer that monitors for any malicious activities, it also checks malicious attachments on emails when using an email client especially checking for spam mails. When you send an email using your email client, Norton AntiVirus scans the message before it leaves your computer.

It makes sure that the message you are sending is clean including the attachments if there are any. Since the error has something to do with the antivirus’ resources which seems to be unavailable, make sure the program is installed properly. Try uninstalling Norton AntiVirus and then restart the computer. Next, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.

Select drive C and click OK. Check “Temporary files” and “Setup log”, click OK, and then click Delete Files. Restart your computer again and then install Norton AntiVirus back. Update it once the installation is complete to have the latest virus definitions and then configure it for your email client. See image.

Once configured, it should work now with your email client. You should now be able to send emails. If the problem continues, shift to Norton Internet Security 2014. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. This is better than Norton AntiVirus because it has its own Smart Firewall.
