The new graphics card that is recently launched by NVIDIA is said to have a very high performance and more better than many other graphics cards in the market.
Can anyone tell me what are the new features and specifications that have made this graphics card earn this fame of being exceptional? In addition to that, please compare between the latest graphics card of ATI and suggest which is better.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 480 Graphics Card in comparison to ATI Graphics Card
The recently launched graphic card by Nvidia this June 2012 is GeForce GTX 680M and not the GTX 480. Anyway, I will give you the specifications and features of both Kepler based GPU and how they differ from the latest graphic card of ATI which is AMD Radeon HD 7970.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 640 has the combined support of DirectX 11 tessellation, Nvidia PhysX and Nvidia 3D Vision Surround Technologies. The 15 tessellation facilitates a wide range of visual effects, PhysX brings physically simulated effects to games, and Nvidia 3D Vision Surround Technology brings a fully immersive width and depth of gaming experience.
Hence, during the time this was introduced, gamers recognized it as the fastest GPU. GeForce GTX 480 performs using High Definition Multimedia Interface and Optimal Playable Settings that make the most of graphics quality. GTX640 fits absolutely with PCI Express 2.0 bus.
As of the present, the GTX 640 is not anymore the fastest GPU of Nvidia because of the newest Kepler architecture they launched. Nvidia claims that GeForce GTX 680 is the fastest portable graphic card ever along with 28 NM Technology for less power consumption.
To emphasize, the GTX 680 is highly recommended for laptop graphics because of the less power usage performance. On the other hand, the GTX 640 is more appropriate for Ultrabooks that requires lower speed graphics.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 has more advantage than AMD/ATI Radeon HD 7970 in general. It has faster and better gaming performance (clock speed: Nvidia’s 1006 to 1058 MHz vs. AMD’s 925 MHz) and lower power consumption (Nvidia’s 195 watts vs. AMD’s 250 watts). Also, the former is priced competitively against the latter. The GTX 680 is $50.00 less than HD 7970.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 480 Graphics Card in comparison to ATI Graphics Card

The new Nvidia GeForce GTX 480 is an advanced technology graphics card. It was a high-end graphics card, not now. Since then ATI produce some great graphics cards like that. The best available is ATI Radeon HD 6990, which is a successful product.
When we take Geforce GTX 480, it is a 1536 MB graphics card, which is the last product from 400 series. And its features are like this:
