Offline Google Maps Service is one of the best ideas of the Google Corporation. It will be very useful because you can use it even without the use of the internet.
I have an Android device, it would be possible to install the Google Maps Offline service in my android?
The Offline Google Maps Service
Google Maps Offline will be rolled out soon to Android. This application uses an automated technology that will allow us to view the world in 45-degree, 3D aerial images. Last year Google introduced a feature that allows the user to define a specific square on the map.
With the added features this year, the new Map will be capable of saving specific places that you defined in your local device storage so that you can access it anytime even if you work offline. While traveling, you can still have a backup map if you need it. Unfortunately, Google did not spell out the release timeframe.
The Offline Google Maps Service
Google Blog has announced that it is now possible to download maps on your android so that you can access maps and directions without a data connection. The feature is a Google Labs feature available for Android users willing to experiment with new beta features and is called Download map area and can be found within the lab area of Google maps 5.7 for android.Â
To download just navigate to a place page while on WIÂ FIÂ or data connection and click on the more button. Then with the more options you will see an option to download map area. It will download maps within a 10 mile radius around that place page. Google said it can take a few minutes to download the data and only includes base map tiles and landmarks on the map.
