I am looking for a Excel Spreadsheet. A XLS File where there is listed all the cities in the world. They should be properly categorized according to their country and regions.

Below are the links which will help you. The World Gazetteer is a site which provides information about all the countries, cities, population, latitude, longitude location and many more details of the world. The site has a link to download even Excel file also.

Please refer that link and let me know if you need any more help on this. The Geo bytes are also a similar kind of site which will help you in fetching the geometric information like country, cities and the similar kind of information as world gazetteer.

You have not informed us what constraints you are working with; what type of cities are you interested in, is it all cities in a country or the capital/administrative/economic cities of these countries?
