Online game server and virtualization

Hello,

I have an Acer Aspire M3100. Recently I wanted a little fun with the pc, trying to create an online game server for my home network. I installed Virtual PC by Microsoft, except that it refuses to start because, it tells me that virtualization is not enabled in the BIOS settings.
Well, I restarted my computer, accesses the BIOS settings, then those of the CPU. Except that the option for Virtualization is nowhere…

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you.

If there is no option for enabling virtualization is there in your BIOS settings, then probably you don’t have the latest update of BIOS version for Acer Aspire M3100. Check it out. Link

If you find out that your BIOS are updated, than your laptop can not run virtualization. You just have to wait until the next update of Acer Aspire M3100 BIOS came. And be optimistic too that it would support virtualization.

Hi there,

The Acer Aspire M3100 is a very modern laptop with a new AMD Athlon 64 x2 processor and that processor and the Laptop has the ability to virtualization.

To enable virtualization you need to restart the laptop, and keep pressing F2 and you should enter the bios, and at the bios navigate to Advanced Bios settings, and there you should see an option "AMD Hyper-V Virtualization", enable the option by pressing enter and selecting enable and press F10 to save and quite BIOS by pressing "Y" on the keyboard and enter.
