Hi keen,
In this regard, you can use Converter 'Zamzar' to convert the presentations into (1997-2003) version of Powerpoint that will make these compatible with the latest version of Powerpoint 2007 and 2010.
I think your problem has been solved.
Now present any version of Powerpoint presentation in Powerpoint version 2007 or 2010 even released 20 years ago in 1992!
Happy presenting.

Hi there. It seems like you created this power point presentation using an older version like 95-97. MS Office 2007 and 2010 doesn’t have the ability to open ppt files that are created using version 95 to 97. So I suggest that you try one or all these fixes and see which one will work.
First is for you to use an online converter. There is a site known as ZamZar (www.zamzar.com) that can convert files into different format. Before you do this, change the extension of your file first. If you don’t know how to check the extension of the file, go to ‘Computer’ then click on ‘Tools’ and select ‘Folder Options’. Under ‘View’ tab look for ‘Hide extensions for known file types’ then uncheck it. Go back to your power point presentation and you can now see the extension. If its .ppt, change it to .pps. Now go to ZamZar website and upload this file. On step 2, select ‘ppt’ or ‘pptx’ then type your email under Step 3 and convert. You should then be able to see the converted file on your email. Download it and try to open using MS 2007 or 2010.
Another option would be to install MS Office 2003 (without SP3) on your computer. If you don’t have a 2003 cd then buy some or look for someone who still has 2003 in their system. You may choose to remove MS Office 2007 or 2010 from your pc or retain it when you install 2003. After having it successfully installed, open your power point presentation and save it with a.ppt extension. You should now be able to open it using MS office 2007 or 2010.
The last option is to download and install Open Office. You may download it here: http://www.openoffice.org/download/ and install it on your computer. After successful installation, try to open your file in this application and save it with a .ppt or .pptx extension.
Hope you find any or all these solutions effective. Best of luck.
Open Old PowerPoint Presentations in Office 2007 and Office 2010
Hi there,
In this problem, PowerPoint can’t open the type of file, maybe the cause of it is the file that you were opening, the file that you were trying to open is most likely a lower version of MS office like MS office 2003, or 2007, and because you were using a MS office 2010, there will be a compatibility issue, there will always be an issue when you open a lower version file from a higher version to solve this issue open the file in a lower version ex. 2007 then click “save as” then choose “Word 97 – 2003 document”
Hope this helps.

This error message appears when you are trying to open an old (very old) version of Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. This error has been observed while opening Microsoft PowerPoint 95 version with Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 version. To resolve your issue please try any of the following solutions:
1. Before opening the file convert it to the compatible version of your Microsoft Office. This can be achieved with online converters as well.
2. Download the older version and open the file. Copy all the slides and paste them into newer version installed in your computer.
This will help you in opening the file.
