OpenBroadcaster keep getting error whenever try to start OBS Aero switches off

Hi,

OpenBroadcaster keep getting this error whenever I try to start OBS Aero switches off, then the error occurs and after I close the error box Aero switches back on but OBS doesn't start. Everything worked yesterday.

I didn't change or install anything in-between. The '5' in the error is not always a 5. It varies.

Sometimes it's a 'u' or something else.

Sometimes even missing all together.

Help would be appreciated.

Hi there Jeffery R Hudspeth,

 

Looks like you are using an older version of the software with the bug that happens every time when you add a new software capture source and move it to the window mode. 

 

Quick workaround is to open the AppData folder and delete temp files stored there.

 

Note that you should only remove the files in the OBS folder. To do that, you will need to show hidden folders on your system, open the  %AppData%OBS folder via the explorer and clean it up by selecting all and deleting the content. You can freely remove the whole folder and not only the content inside.

 

For the real solution you should update your software and apply available fixes.
