Opening .rar file seems impossible to open

A client has sent me a file Articlews.rar which contains 42 word files. I have been unable to open this. I don't have zip but ARK which does not seem to be working properly and keeps telling me error. My linkbook has openoffice and does not support downloads.

I have tried online file extraction and even managed to extract the files at one stage. I tried opening but the are encoded and unreadable. I have tried converting to html, as advised. I have tried various things but cant seem to open these files. I have never had a problem with opening files before.

My ark seemed to extract but I don't know where the files went. If I could just read or view the files i can copy them. The client states that they are word 7 docx files and suggest I upload them to Google docs and then download them again. For some reason my upload function on Google wont work.

I have been unsuccessful with online conversions and views. I don't want to lose this contract. please help me.

Opening .rar file seems impossible to open

Sharon, To help you with this, Please install WIN rar software on your computer. This will be a great help for you. It extracts and puts the file directly on your desired selected folder on d drive.

Therefore rather then going Google docs and downloading again, go for this software install it and it will be done. You can get this software for free on searching it in Google search engine.

And moreover as you said this docs are in docx format, therefore you'll be needing to have MS WORD 2007 or above installed in your computer to open docx files. below versions would not open the docx file format. Therefore install windows 2007 also on your computer.
