The operation can’t be completed error

While attempting to replace a program package that contains files, I see this error.

The operation can’t be completed because the item “TextWranglerTextDoc.icns” is in use

Hello Grifiths,

The operation can’t be completed because the item “TextWranglerTextDoc.icns” is in use:

This happens when the program is still running. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del. It will open task manager window. From there chose the right program you want to stop running. Then press End Task. 

Now try to uninstall the app. Hope this time it will uninstall.

Hello,

Are you using a MAC laptop with OS X operating system? I believe that the problem you encountered  is mostly experienced by the people using this operating system. You will encounter this kind error when you are attempting to modify, replace or alter a program package that has files that's not been deleted. In this case, you can just move the old file in the trash and then copy the new one in the Application folder.
