Ora-12154: TNS could not resolve service name.

Hello, Oracle Database Forms 10g version (9.0.4) is trying to connect to Oracle 10G Enterprise Editions. In the beginning, I have not set the ‘Local Net Service Name Configuration’ in Oracle Net Configuration Assistant. An error appears thin and the screenshot of the error message is attached here.

Can any expert explain the connection methods to the database with any forms? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you very much.

Hi Scot,

 

This usually happens when you are trying to connect a name that doesn't really exist on your local copy of the tnsnames.ora file..

Check the aliases that are defined on your workstation.

Try to look for "$ORACLE_HOME/networks/admin/tnsnames.ora and check the alias and match it, so you will able to connect.
