I have successfully installed Oracle 8.0 to my Windows 7 32 bit notebook but when I start the database, it says it could not be started. It also doesn’t start using Services.
MSC Aside from this, it also tells me that it is unable to connect to TNS when I log in.
Oracle 8.0 installation on Windows 7
Hallo Abbiegail,
Are you using the right usernames and password to connect to the database? Ensure that you use the right username and password that you provided when configuring the oracle during the installation process.
The default system for the oracle database if system but there is no default password. You will have to use the one that you used when installing oracle.
Otherwise it may be that the oracle set up was corrupt an did not install properly and therefore you might be required to get another one and install.

Oracle 8.0 installation on Windows 7
Hi,
Just simply first thing you do is to check the Oracle 8 if it’s compatible or may be if it’s supported into the windows 7 and the Oracle 8 version allow only on the windows XP and windows 2000/98 and then oracle 8 is never envisioned to be used on the windows 7 it is not supported.
I recommend that you just simply download the latest version of the Oracle this maybe suitable to the windows 7 just try to download the Oracle 10 this maybe compatible to the windows 7 and then if you don’t not know how install the latest version of the Oracle just always ask or watch on the YouTube.
