Other application to open .rar files

Is there any other application that can extract RAR files so that I won't have to Downloads WinRAR. I really find it useless to have it in my system because I don't use WINRAR often.

Hello,

 

Unfortunately, there is no option to unrar your archive without installing some kind of software.

 

There are more than few alternatives you can use if you don't feel like installing the WinRAR. The easiest is the one called Simple Unrar and it actually doesn't even require installation. Download the files, copy them and you're done.

 

More quality alternatives that require installation would be 7-Zip, Quick Zip, TUGZip or IZArc. 

 

In any case, you will have to download and eventually install the software to unpack your archive.

Other application to open .rar files

Good day Kelly

Yes you can there lots of extracting software available. I will show you how doing it the easy way without software.

Open the folder where the WinRAR file is. Right click on the file and go to properties.

Click on change to choose the default program.

 

Then choose the default program to open the file with. Choose windows explorer. 

 

When you go back to the file you can see that the icon has changed.  

Right click on the file and choose extract all , then you can save it to your desired location and click.

Underneath the path is a tick to open when the files is extracted. It is your choice to tick or not . Then click ok,

A program I use is PowerISO, which is a lot better than WinRAR. You can create your own image files burn to a CD, extract WinRAR files, you can also make bootable CD/DVDs
