OTL exe Unable to locate Component error occurred

Hi,

Why am I getting this error message every time when I right click on My Computer and access properties or in control panel click on the System? What could be the cause of this error message? I extremely need your assistance. Thanks.

Otl: OTL.exe – Unable to locate Component

This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

OTL exe Unable to locate Component error occurred

Hi Megan,
The error is because the Framedyn.dll is missing or damaged.
There are multiple solutions to resolve this error.
Solution 1: Replace the Framedyn.dll file
1) Click 'Start', Click 'Run'
2) Type '%systemroot%system32dllcache', Click 'OK'

3) Right Click 'framedyn.dll', click copy
4) Click 'Start', Click 'Run'
5) Type '%systemroot%system32wbem', click 'OK'

6) On the edit menu, Click 'Paste'

Solution 2: Verify the system variables
1) Click 'Start', Right Click 'My Computer', Click 'Properties'
2) In the System properties window, Click 'Advanced' tab

3) Click 'Environment Variables', under 'System Variables', Click 'Path'

4) In the variable box, type '%SystemRoot%system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%System32wbem'
5) Click 'OK'
