Hi,
Some of my clients, when they try to open Outlook, keeps receiving the following message: “The file x:Outlook ArchivesOutlook.ost cannot be opened”, but after they restart the computer everything is working as it should. Sometimes Outlook shows that there are no messages, and after a while it shows that you actually have a lot of them.
Do you think this is happening because clients use SBS 2003, Exchange Server 2003, Outlook 2007?
Outlook reliability Problem with SBS 2003, Exchange Server 2003
Hi Alexander,
This issue can be an inconsistent connection to your Local Network, upon checking the error it points to a map drive. If network connection fluctuates chances are the it affects the performance of outlook in opening mapped connection.
Maybe try to map your PST files in UNC way or a long way as it finds the root drive on where the PST file is since it would be a direct connection unlike with mapped drive it has an additional step of looking for the connection first rather than connecting directly.
