I want to overclock my ATI Radeon HD 3650 but couldn't. I downloaded AMD drive clock tool because I use AMD CPU. But it just gives me "Unknown Error" when I try to open it. I uninstalled my driver and reinstalled them again, but couldn't work.

Hi Judith Fowler,

Your Ati Radeon HD 3650 or simply your graphics card probably did not meet the requirement of the game or application software like image editing software, CAD, or video editing software you are about to install, or simply just to take advantage of your video card. Anyway, Regardless of whatever your reason is, here is how to do it. By the way, I do not know how are you going to overclock your video card with what you are describing in the forum so I will just tell you another way of overclocking it.

1.       Click Start -> Go to Programs

2.       Click ATI -> Click Catalyst Control

3.       Click the Unlock button or the Padlock Icon to unlock the overclock settings

4.       Drag the sliders as you please.

5.       When done, click Accept.

PS: Check always the temperature of your system to avoid overheating your video card.

AMD default package is not allowing to overclock all graphic cards, only newer ones (for your information, AMD and ATI are now one company, since the AMD brought ATI in 2006).

Currently best independent tool for overclocking graphic cards is Afterburner.

You can download it (for free) from this location:

http://www.guru3d.com/files_get/afterburner_download_msi,1.html

Before installing it, you should know that what you aim to do is a risky job. Choose steps of Frequency very carefuly, and stop as soon as you see first artifacts on the screen.
