Hey everyone,

I have a Packard Bell computer with Windows 7 installed on it. On start up I get a message from packard bell nec recovery process requesting a 12 digit System Serial Number. I have looked everywhere on my computer and can't find it. Can anyone help me with this?

Hello Steve

I have heard of this error before. So I might be able to help you fixing it. Please try the following:

Search on the sleeve the CD came in. The serial number may be there. Also be sure you have checked very well on the computer. You might have missed the 12-digit Serial Number.

Press the F11 as soon as you see the Logo on your screen. That might boot it into the automatic recovery process.

Also, try entering PB98 or PBE98. I have heard that these might work.

Also, this code is a 5-digit code near the serial #. Check by the serial # XXXXX and try entering any set of 5 digits.

If after all this, it will still not work, you should reinstall the Windows 7 on it only from an original CD.

I hope this will solve your problem.

Randolph

Hi.

Packard Bell puts their serial codes on computers itself. There are two ways how to get it.

1) When your computer starts, start pressing F11. This will bring it to recovery mode. From recovery mode you can reset it to factory settings and locate your serial key.

2) The serial key is under the computer itself.
