Recently, I just have a new PC. I wondered if I can still used my HP LaserJet    4MP (10 years old) will work with it. I ask this because the new PC lacks a parallel cable socket. Can you help me with this matter?
Parallel Cable Socket for Computers
Hi,
Hopefully, you can use you old printer, even if your computer is not equipped with a parallel port, you just need a USB to parallel adapter that you can buy at any electronics or IT store.
Â
Here is the solution to connect your (old) parallel printer into a USB port:
1) Get the needed cables and adapters.
2) Get the driver for your printer and install it on your PC.
3) Next: go to Control Panel / Printers and Faxes /
4) Right click on the icon of the printer / properties / Ports
5) Uncheck the LPT1 port and check USB001 'Virtual printer port for USB.
And that’s it , it should work.
Thank you
