Hi,
I am using HP desktop for 5 years. It is normally turned on for 24/7. Yesterday I turned it off as i planned to go outside of the town. But later I cancelled my plan. Now the problem is when I tried to turn on my PC, it didn't turn on. I only saw a green light coming. What is the problem?

PC stopped working, green light is on
This situation from lack of voltage on your home Electricity line when you turn on your PC. I want to say you at times when you turn on your system this times your Computer can not support on it’s capable of run therefore it  will missing something. It happens on picture tube or power supply or screen. You make sure your CPU will work as before. If CPU would not work it missing power. At first you have to select which problems on you CPU or Display. And repair it. Because repairing can be done by experts. Do it you may solve your problem remember it is better to off your computer till repair.
==thanks==

Yes, HP Desktops can be used as servers and they are opted to for their high performance and sustainability.
There are couple of things to be noted here.
-
First one is if you could hear the processor fan running then try to connect the CPU to another monitor and make sure that CPU is working fine. Hence now the problem can be in the monitor only.
-
There could also be problem if the motherboard if the problem is not with the monitor ,it doesn't sound like power supply problem.
How to cross check if Motherboard is working fine?
Unplug every thing, take the cabinet off , remove the RAM chips and the nickel battery and put them back as it is and now switch on the power of the CPU. if the beep comes then there is no problem with the motherboard.
And if still not working then try contacting the HP support that can be the best way.
