I have a PC that does not want to shut down. Every time I click shutdown from the start menu, the PC stays on and goes back to the desktop. Until now I have to turn off the PC by unplugging the power cable from the switch.
I am worried this will damage the hardware if kept this way.Â
Is there a way or solution to solve this problem on my PC?
PC that does not want to shutdown
What you are doing is very unsafe for the hard disk. Sooner or later it will damage its pin and it will break. You must have installed a driver or software that conflicts with the system. Try repairing your operating system and see if it fixes the problem, if not, reformat it and then install drivers one by one, while shutting down your PC once a driver is installed.
This method is to test what driver is having conflict with your system, so that you can look for new drivers that are compatible to your system.
There is nothing to lose here, it is much better to save your hard disk.

PC that does not want to shutdown
Hi,
If that is the case, your computer does not want to shutdown may be some of your software are still running. Try to close before shutting down your computer to avoid errors. If not try :
Disable the setting in the system; locate the My Computer on the desktop screen ; right click start ; go to My computer and select properties; check the shortcut menu, you will see system properties ; click the advanced tab and simply click the setting button ; Now you will find the startup and recovery section. After that you will find an automatically restart check box , just simply click ok.Â
