Permissions required to move or copy a file
To move and copy files or folders you can take Ownership of and grant myself Full Control permissions of the files or folders . I recommend doing this for large branches in your directory, Â like doing this for the Program Files folder and all folders and files.
Another way going to the Start button, typing in Windows Explorer, right-clicking on this and selecting Run As Administrator. I should then have "elevated privileges"to do whatever I wish to files in Windows Explorer.
Permissions required to move or copy a file
Â
Usually, when copying, moving, or deleting a file on a computer, a user is usually granted full permission. This permission is applied on the type of user account he or she is using on the computer. If your user account is only set to limited, you have a very limited user functions and permissions like:
- You can only change or remove your own password.
- You are allowed to change your user account’s picture, desktop theme, and other desktop settings.
- View only the files you created.
- View files in the Shared Documents folder.
Limited user accounts usually can’t install a program and may need to ask an administrator to install it for them.
