Adobe Photoshop CS3 – Could not use the move tool because the target channel is hidden.
I have this error encountered in Adobe Photoshop CS3 it says “Could not use the move tool because the target channel is hidden.” I have checked all my layers and all of them are active and no one is hidden. How do I know if the layer is hidden or not?
Photoshop CS3 – Could not use the move tool
Before I offer the solution, I would like to explain the error message. It says that the target channel is hidden. Obviously layer is not hidden but the channel is hidden.
If this error message shall appear only when Quick Mask Mode is activated, the solution is as below and follow these steps.
-
If you are moving any layer, open Windows or Channels tool.
-
Click Window menu, then choose channels. Several channels could be seen e.g. Quick Mask, Blue, Green, Red and RGB etc.
-
Choose any one of the channels and same error will be prompted if any layer is moving on project window.
-
Choose an RGB channel, no error message appears if the layer is moving on project window.
-
Choose Quick Mask channel, when the layer is moving on the project window, you will see only that mask is moving.
The above test means that the error appears only when the Quick Mask mode is used. Therefore you shall choose a standard mode, and the error shall be avoided. Press ‘Q’ or choose the circle box on the tool.
Hope this could help. Thank you for your attention.
Photoshop CS3 – Could not use the move tool
Hi there user:
Try to solve it by closing all tabs layered on your Adobe Photoshop CS3. Some users find it not only getting that error, their Adobe Photoshop Crashes, and that’s more disturbing, will really put you in trouble.
Less on your screen, the better you can modify, right? You can also use Uninstall Microsoft Intellipoint Software.
Thanks for asking,
