Please help me with compac nc 6000

My Compaq nc6000 wont detect my hard drive when trying to load Win XP every time I get to the screen where it says install or repair or exit I choose install the I get the message no hard drive.

Hello 

This is not a software problem of your notebook. This might be a problem of any parts of your notebook hardware.

So, you should check them to make sure that every part is working perfectly.

Check out your Hard Disk connection cable first. If you think there is no problem with the cable, check out the hard disk.

If you are not an advanced user of hardware, you can consult with someone who is an expert of it.
