Please Help, my Laptop is shocking

Why is my compact Presario notebook laptop shocking? I found out recently that my compact laptop is shocking people if you touch the some of its peripheral components like the speaker or the non-plastic parts. This behavior started after I use a friend charger to charge the laptop. Although, if the laptop is not plugged to the main socket, it won’t shock.

The charger that you used. Has might shorted the circuit or your battery have got something wrong. Just insert your battery and keep it out for few hours and use your laptop for few hours without a battery by plugging it with charger. And then insert the battery again. And be careful next time use only accessories that come with the your laptop.

If your Laptop is throwing shock, The reason behind throwing shock is Electrostatic discharge (ESD). ESD is a discharge of electric current between any two objects with different electrical potentials. This means that because of ESD two dissimilar objects with dissimilar electric potentials can throw shock if they come in contact for some time. If you move an object across dissimilar material, it accumulates small amount of electrical charge within that object.
Your speaker or any other plastic part has come into contact with ESD. It’s throwing shock. The solution to this can be use of different charger for some time or contact the hardware vendor.
