My computer has a virus, but I do not have a good antivirus installed. My friend suggested a system restore. Please tell me can a system restore remove a virus from my computer?

Hi, although I have not tried using a system restore for this purpose, I would suggest not to do it. This is because if there is a virus, it will in turn infect your restore points as well, causing more problems. So, remove the virus first.
I realize it might sound expensive, but please consider investing in a good antivirus software.
I suggest avast or quickheal.
Viruses nowadays are very strong and need an effective antivirus to combat it.
