Hello! Recently I have noticed that when I am working on computer and if it is connected to Internet, pop ads appear on the desktop screen even if the browser is closed. A lot of pop ads appear when I am using a browser but if its close, why do they still appear? This stops happening if I disconnect the Internet
Pop up ads keep appearing on my desktop computer
These annoying advertisements are known as "Pop-under." They are like the pop-up ads but stay out of sight behind the browser window you have opened instead of displaying in front of what you are viewing. Â
As users became more adept at simply closing all pop-ups without reading them, advertisers also got wiser and created the pop-under ad. They stay out of sight until the user closes the their browser or minimizes it and then their attention is also free to focus on the pop-under ad. It has been shown that we react better to the pop-under ads when we are not distracted by the background of a browser window.
A pop-under ad is created using simple JavaScript technologies along with Netscape 2.0B3 browser. Today's web creators and advertisers use this method to create and load an advertisement, and then send it behind the browser window.
