Portability of alcatel x220 with linux

Greetings of the day, I am using Alcatel x220 data card from few couple of months. Presently, I am using windows 7.  I need to change from windows 7  to Linux OS. Is Alcatel x220 supports Linux?  If so , can any one say the connectivity speed of the Alcatel x220 with Linux. At present , I am getting 85.6 kbps DL, 42.8 kbps UL off connectivity speed.  And also say the latest version of Alcatel x220 memory support .

The latest version of alcatel x220 is Wimax USB 3G modem Alcatel x220 and has additional specifications such as micro sd card slot support, it is fully unlocked for all 3G UMPTS/HSDPA/EDGE/GPRS  and has integrated messaging.
