A spyware is a kind of malware that steals personal and important information from a user and sends it to another computer where it is collected. The author of the malware uses that information for various purposes especially financial transactions if the malware successfully obtains the banking or financial information of the user.

Spyware can be removed using an antivirus. Try updating your antivirus then run a full system scan on your computer. A full system scan will normally scan all the drives on the computer. After the scan, open Windows Explorer then click Tools and then Folder Options. Select View tab. Scroll down a little bit then select “Show hidden files and folders” and then uncheck “Hide protected operating system files” then click OK.

Go to drive C, right-click System Volume Information folder, point to your antivirus, and then select Scan. This is just to make sure that no virus is hiding inside the folder.
