Hello TehyV,
I have problems powering up my MAC G5. I ensured to check the cord continuity and the power from the wall. They were both good. However, when I turn on the button at the front of the box it does not work. Is it that the problem is a fried power supply of the switch? Can someone help me troubleshoot using a multimeter.
Thanks for your help.
Power issue with MAC G5
Hi Gyle,
I will help you with your PowerMac G5. You are saying that, your Mac is not turning on. It might have several reasons. First check the power source, then check the power chord. If everything is ok, then plug it in another switch and still it's not working, then take it to nearest Apple Store so that they can fix. And if you think that you can fix, then good luck.

How old is your G5? Because after a period for time the PRAM displays some sort of starting problem. It happened on my G4.Â

Thank you for your comments, my friends. Emil Onoon, your idea is right. Actually, this trouble had me puzzled. What was I going to do? I read your comment and did what you recommended, and then I saw that the problem vanished and now I can operate my PowerMac G5 easily. Actually, when I plug it into another switch it works. I mean, the problem was with the switch all the time. Thanks, guys, for helping me to get rid of this problem.
