Hi experts, I bought a second hand Trinitron computer monitor recently. The problem is it keeps on telling me it is in power save mode every time I connect it. How do I rectify this problem? I really want to use it soon but it is giving me a headache. Thank you.

If the computer boots up and only the monitor in power saves mode problem could occur because of several reasons.
1.  Check whether you have plugged the cables correctly.
2.  Check whether the cables are damaged.
3.  Open the PC and check whether your graphic card is plugged correctly.
4.  Check the port pins. They might be damaged.
If the above are configured correctly we can think that the monitor might have some issue. Connect your vendor and try to get some support.Â

If when every time you open your computer and you are not able to see a windows prompt messages and option that says "start Normal" mode. By default that "normal" should be set. Here an easy way to solve this problem.
1.  Restart your computer, normally before entering into your operating system, you have the chance to modify or diagnose your computer. You should be able to sight "Start Up Recovery Option: If so, hold the Key that represents it (esp, 5/F10, etc). Be quick because you are only given seconds to capture it and get directed to Startup Recovery window. Wait until the procedure finishes and restart. Your computer now should work just fine.
2.  If the first step is not available for you for whatever reason. Get your OS disc and try to find "Repair/Troubleshoot feature there. Note that you do not have to reformat your computer. You just have to repair it there. Then your computer restarts and by then it should work just fine.
Reply in this thread if the procures did not work for you. I am always willing to help you and give more solutions

The monitor obviously doesn't get signal from the computer that is why it is prompting a message that it is on a power save mode. Observe if the monitor cables does not have chipped or damaged part. Likewise, check if the cables end, are not damaged. Same goes to the port of the monitor.
